Nikolai Fuchs completed an apprenticeship in agriculture and studied agricultural sciences at the University Bonn (DE). He worked as managing director and consultant for the German Demeter Association at national and federal state level before he took over the directory of the Agricultural Section at the Goetheanum Academy in Switzerland in 2001.

In parallel he headed the Demeter office in Berlin in 2000/2001 as well as the office of Demeter International in Brussels from 2001‒2010.

Since 2010 he is President of the Nexus Foundation in Switzerland.

Nikolai Fuchs got perfectly acquainted with agriculture due to his practical experience and experiences deriving from consulting and observations throughout Europe as well as in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan, Brazil, India, Egypt, Tunisia, Kenya, South Korea and the United States of America.

He publishes and holds lectures throughout the world.

Born in 1963, in Korbach (DE). Apprenticeship of agriculture in Lübeck (DE); Alternative National Service in the field of nature conservation within the municipality of Wuppertal (DE); various training courses in practice or within public authorities both at home and abroad, including for instance a half year of training in Australia; academic studies of agricultural science (Master of Agricultural Sciences) in Bonn (DE), with a major in Nature Protection and Landscape Ecology.
